Restaurants in Newcastle change all the time - new ones open, existing ones close, chefs leave .... So it's always interesting to find out what restaurants you know and like.
If you like Indian food, the Komal restaurant in Brentwood Avenue near West Jesmond metro is quite good. It can be expensive, but they are doing a meal deal at the moment for £9.95 before 7 in the evening.
Mangos in Stowell Street is good for Dim Sum on a Sunday (though they always put their prices up for Christmas> I think they have misunderstood the concept of "Christmas presents").
Red Mezze in Leazes Park Road is a Turkish restaurant which has good starters ("mezze") (http://www.restaurantturkish.co.uk/)
